The FADP regulates various new obligations for companies with regard to data processing and also provides for stricter sanctions in the event of breaches of obligations. The people say yes to the introduction of minimum wages in the cities of Winterthur and Zurich
On 18 June 2023, voters in the cities of Winterthur and Zurich approved the introduction of a minimum wage. Provided that the initiatives can actually be implemented, a minimum wage will in principle be applicable in both cities in the future. In Winterthur this is to be at least CHF 23 per hour and in Zurich at least CHF 23.90 per hour. Extrapolated to a full-time workload, this would correspond to around CHF 4,100 to CHF 4,300 per month. In the city of Zurich in particular, however, it is currently still open whether this minimum wage will actually enter into force as planned.

Facilitation regarding the social security status in the area of home office/telework abroad in international constellations
Under certain conditions and based on a multilateral agreement, it will from 1 July 2023 be easier for employers domiciled in Switzerland to allow employees domiciled in certain EU/EFTA countries to work from home to a greater extent, without this leading to a change of the applicable social security scheme. In particular, it will be possible for cross-border commuters from Germany, Austria and Liechtenstein to work outside Switzerland for up to 49.9% of their working time without this having any effect on their social security status in Switzerland. However, the agreement still has to be signed by the participating countries.
