Jean Marguerat ist in allen Aspekten der Streitbeilegung ein ausgewiesener Experte, insbesondere kümmert er sich um internationale Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit und Prozessführung. Er ist einer der Autoren des Kommentars zu den Schweizer Regeln der Internationalen Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit.
Er konzentriert sich in seiner Arbeit auf internationale Schiedsverfahren, Prozessführung und Vertragsrecht und hat in mehr als 90 institutionellen (ICC, SCAI, LCIA, VIAC, CAS, etc.) und ad hoc-Schiedsinstanzen zum Verkauf von Gütern und Verbrauchsgütern, Lizenz- und Vertriebsverträgen, Bauwesen, Meeresarbeiten, Joint Ventures, Unternehmensgeschäften und Sport-bezogenen Aspekten praktische Erfahrung als Parteivertreter und Schiedsrichter gesammelt. Er vertritt ausserdem regelmässig Klienten vor Schweizer Gerichten zu allen Formen des Handelsstreits, insbesondere solche in Bezug auf Schiedsgerichtsverfahren (Durchsetzung und Anfechtung von Schiedsgerichtsurteilen). Zu seinen Tätigkeiten gehören Anerkennungs- und Vollstreckungsverfahren (inklusive Arrest) sowie internationale Rechtsberatung.
