Cross-Perspectives on how Institutions appoint, challenge and monitor Tribunals

The choice of arbitrator shapes both the conduct of an arbitration and the quality of the award. Yet the way institutions decide on appointments, address challenges and monitor tribunals often remains unseen by the parties and practitioners who rely on them.

MLL Legal is pleased to invite you to an engaging panel discussion where our panel will compare institutional practice in Singapore and Switzerland.

The discussion will cover the factors that drive appointments, the handling of challenges, conflicts and repeat appointments, and the weight given in practice to legal qualifications, arbitration experience, sector expertise and legal tradition. The panel will also explore how institutions identify new arbitrators and how practitioners can come to an institution’s attention.

Panellists
• Tanya Landon, Landon Arbitration / Court Member of the Swiss Arbitration Centre
• Vivekananda Neelakantan, Registrar of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC)

Moderator
• Jean Marguerat

Following the discussion, guests are warmly invited to join us for a cocktail reception with light refreshments.
