MLL Legal acted as an independent investigator in the administrative investigation concerning the Federal Statistical Office (FSO)

MLL Legal had the honour of being mandated by the Federal Department of Home Affairs to conduct an administrative investigation into the errors made in the statistical analysis of the 2023 federal elections. After the elections, the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) discovered an error in the calculation of the aggregate national party strength during quality checks of its election statistics.

In its capacity as an independent investigator MLL Legal had to analyse whether the quality management processes, technical and human resources were sufficient and whether any legal or contractual obligations had been breached. After studying the facts of the case and conducting several interviews, MLL Legal produced a comprehensive report on the findings of the administrative investigation, which has just been published.

The MLL Legal team consisted of Lukas Bühlmann (partner) and Max Königseder, both members of the firm’s ICT & Digital practice group.
