The countdown is on – 3 days to Oliver Heer’s around-the-world sailing race
It seems like yesterday that we announced our sponsorship with the Oliver Heer Ocean Racing Team to compete in the world’s toughest sailing challenge, the Vendée Globe.
In fact, more than two years have passed and the 45,000km, solo, non-stop, unassisted around-the-world yacht race is now just around the corner, leaving Les Sables-d’Olonne in France on 10 November 2024.
A lot of blood, sweat and tears have gone into the preparation of what is the most demanding sailing competition of its kind, and as the long-awaited start to this epic race is approaching, Ollie recaps:
“You are a sailor a third of the time or, if you’re lucky, half of the time. The other half of the time you are a businessman. I am so proud of what myself and the team have achieved over the last three and a bit years. Here we are, the first ever Swiss-German team on the start line of one of the most iconic offshore, round-the-world races.”
