MLL Legal advised the KRÜGER GROUP in the acquisition of Hermes Süssstoff AG
Founded in 1904, Hermes Süssstoff AG specializes in high-quality tabletop sweeteners. In addition to Assugrin, the company also distributes and produces the internationally renowned brands Hermesetas and SteviaSweet.
Assugrin is now the benchmark for calorie-free sweetening, especially in Switzerland. Hermesetas is the market leader in Northern Europe and has a strong international presence in Australia, the UK, Ireland, and many other countries.
The KRÜGER GROUP is a German food and beverage manufacturer. It produces and sells food products, specialising in beverages, chocolate and sugar confectionery, infant formula, health products, OTC and pharmaceutical products and semi-finished products for the processing industry. The acquisition of Hermes Süssstoff is a suitable addition to the KRÜGER GROUP’s Beverages division, allowing the latter to strengthen its position as an international quality and innovation leader.
The MLL Legal team supported the inhouse team of Krüger, Kai Piepenstock, Martin Fröhlich and Marcel Stamm, and the team of McDermott Will & Emery in this transaction with regard to Swiss law aspects.
