MLL Hosts Joint Event AIPLA and INGRES in Geneva | 17 June 2025
MLL Legal is proud to host a joint event on 17 June at our Geneva office, bringing together the two leading IP associations: the American AIPLA and the Swiss INGRES.
Kim Van Voorhis, President of AIPLA, will present the vision and mission of the American association, followed by Michael Ritscher, President of INGRES highlighting its role in shaping the Swiss IP law. Later on, the spotlight will turn to the future, to explore the potential for deeper collaboration of the two associations, followed by a compelling legal insight from Prof. Daniel Kraus, judge at the Swiss Federal Patent Court, who will share his perspective on patent litigation in Switzerland.
Michael Ritscher will outline the implications of a landmark ruling by the European Court of Justice in the Vitra vs Kwantum case – an important step towards ending discrimination against US designs and designers in Europe. Margaret Polson will then guide the audience through strategies for optimizing the Hague design protection system, offering practical insights for global design rights and conclude the formal programme.
The evening will end with an a relaxed cocktail reception where shared ideas and visions will hopefully strengthen the bridge between two continents.
