Meyerlustenberger Lachenal strengthens its financial services and regulatory practice with the lateral hire of Stephanie Comtesse

Meyerlustenberger Lachenal Ltd. (MLL) is delighted to welcome Stephanie Comtesse as counsel starting 1 March 2018.

Stephanie Comtesse joins MLL from Bär & Karrer where she headed the investment product and asset management practice for over ten years. With more than twenty years of experience, she is widely recognized in the market and by prestigious ranking journals as one of the leading and senior lawyers in Switzerland in this field. Her practice includes advising on (domestic and international) investment fund and asset management structures, establishing/licensing Swiss entities and investment products as well as assisting foreign promoters in entering the Swiss market and running their daily business. She also advises clients on all contractual and regulatory aspects of the management of pension fund assets. Stephanie Comtesse has been deeply involved in representing the interests of professional associations in the law-making process throughout her career. Accordingly, she is always at the forefront of legislative projects and changes. Stephanie Comtesse also has substantial experience with the issuance and listing of structured products. She further provides her clients with advice in relation to M&A transactions with regulatory implications, general banking and finance matters as well as fintech issues.

Stephanie Comtesse is a Recognized Representative for the Listing of Securities at the SIX Swiss Exchange and a member of the Swiss Funds and Asset Management Association’s Legal and Compliance Committee Working Group on international Distribution.

As a Swiss-American, Stephanie Comtesse is regularly invited to speak in Switzerland, Europe and the United States on current topics. She has published extensively throughout her entire career.
Stephanie Comtesse has received numerous awards for her work including the ILO Client Choice Award (Securitisation and Structured Finance) in 2014 and the Women in Law Awards 2017 (Investment Fund Lawyer of the Year) from Lawyer- Monthly.
