Lunch with purpose – webinar series 2021 | How is the next generation transforming the meaning of wealth and disrupting traditional philanthropy?
MLL and Credit Suisse (Switzerland) Ltd. this year launched the “Lunch with Purpose – Webinar Series 2021”. The webinars take place regularly focus on new trends and hot topics shaping the fast-evolving sector of philanthropy. The next session is on 6 September 2021 on the topic of how the next generation is transforming the meaning of wealth and disrupting traditional philanthropy.
We are about to witness the largest wealth transfer in history, with baby boomers set to pass more than USD 15 trillion on to their children. A large amount will go into philanthropic organizations, including family foundations, and this money will also impact generations to come. While philanthropy can be viewed as a way to bind family members together and teach them a sense of responsibility, the fact remains that personal motivations and values are the driving force behind the act of giving. The next generation is breaking away from conventional philanthropy through innovative giving strategies which favor a more rational, effective, collaborative, and transparent approach. They are conscious of their privileges and they want to use their assets and resources to change the world. In doing so, philanthropy enables individuals and families to turn wealth into a tool for creating a lasting and meaningful impact for the good of society.
In this next Lunch with Purpose – Webinar Series 2021 session, we will explore how today’s next gen is revolutionizing philanthropy and the nonprofit sector through the testimony of individuals with first-hand experience, who will share their insights on this transformation. Join us for a lively and engaging discussion with the participation of Belinda Fleischmann, Founder of ZYNYA Consulting, Dr. oec. Sonja Kissling, Attorney-at-Law, LL.M., Mediator, Governance Consultant, Gaia Montauti d’Harcourt, Managing Director of Fondation d’Harcourt, and Prof. Peter Vogel, Professor of Family Business and Entrepreneurship and holder of the Debiopharm Chair for Family Philanthropy at IMD Business School. Julie Wynne, Partner at MLL, will moderate a panel discussion about how the next generation is transforming the meaning of wealth and disrupting traditional philanthropy. Keyvan Ghavami, Competence Center Charitable Foundations Credit Suisse (Switzerland) Ltd, and Isabelle von Jeinsen, Head of Competence Center Charitable Foundations Credit Suisse (Switzerland) Ltd, will respectively welcome and conclude the event.
