Michael Ritscher to chair this years Zurich IP Retreat on the “Correlation between requirements for and scope of protection in IP Law”
After the success of previous Zurich IP Retreats on topics such as The Hindsight Bias, Injunction at a Junction, Nationalism vs. Globalization, and The Measure of All Things, INGRES is once again bringing together international opinion leaders from the world of intellectual property. Judges, academics, officials, litigators, patent attorneys, and in-house counsels will gather to discuss another central issue in IP law.
The 2025 retreat centers on a fundamental issue: Should small achievements receive narrow protection, while major ones are granted broader safeguards? Design law expressly provides for such a link, but what are the implications for other areas, including unfair competition, patents, copyright, and trademarks?
Dr. Michael Ritscher will guide these discussions as Co-Chair of the Zurich IP Retreat 2025, hosted by ETH Zurich and INGRES. He will also chair two expert panels, where global leaders in IP will exchange views on the latest developments across patent, copyright, trademark, design, and unfair competition law.
Location: Hotel Sonne, Küsnacht/Zurich
Date: Friday 12 & Saturday 13 September 2025
Registration: Zurich IP-Retreat 2025 – Institut für gewerblichen Rechtsschutz (INGRES)
